  • Barcelona have reignited interest in midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and watched the Lazio midfielder in action on Sunday, according to reports.

Milinkovic-Savic, 23, emerged as one of Europe’s most-coveted players in 2017/18 and gained interest from the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

SPORT have stated that Barca’s head international scout, Ariedo Braida, was present for Lazio’s 2-0 win at Parma. This was specifically to analyse the form of the towering Serbia international.

Milinkovic-Savic played all 90 minutes and was booked late on at Stadio Ennio Tardini. He has one goal and one assist in eight Serie A appearances this term – a decline from last season’s three assists and 12 goals from 35 run-outs.

A contract extension until 2023 – with no release clause – at Lazio was announced on October 1.
