Real Betis handed Barcelona their first home defeat in La Liga in 26 months and did so in tremendous fashion.

Naturally, Betis boss Quique Setien was immediately linked to the Catalan club as a future replacement for Ernesto Valverde.

The fact that Setien’s philosophy is in line with that of Barcelona’s fuelled speculation further. However, the 60-year-old dismissed any rumours, saying he’s happy at the Andalusian club.

“Look, I am very happy with this result and the manner of it,” Setien told reporters after the match.

“When we execute performances like this it helps convince everyone of what we are doing and helping us continue to grow.”

Setien did confess his admiration for Barcelona’s style of football, but the Spaniard maintained that he has no intention of leaving Betis any time soon.

“If you are asking about the style of play then I cannot deny that Barca’s football is a style of play I have always admired and look up to.

“But the truth is Barca have a great Coach who is hugely successful, and I have no intention of leaving Betis anytime soon, I am very happy here.”
