Barcelona veteran Gerard Pique’s attempts to branch away from his playing career could include the purchase of crisis-struck Catalan club Reus Deportivo, according to reports.
Pique, 31, has made more than 450 appearances for the La Liga champions since his return to them a decade ago from Manchester United. He has in recent years began to pursue outside interests, such as a television production company and a MBA at Harvard University.
Metropoli Abierta has stated that Reus require a €5 million investment in the opening weeks of this month to avoid potential administration.
With Barca’s ex-general director, Joan Oliver, now CEO at the Segunda Division’s third-bottom side, Pique has been approached about getting involved.
