Real Madrid target and Chelsea superstar gave his opinion on the G.O.A.T (The Greatest Of All Times) debate and his answer might not sit well with his potential future employers.
The Belgian believes that there Argentina and Barcelona star Lionel Messi is the greatest player ever.
“(laughs) C’est qui? Who’s that? Two G.O.A.T.s you say? No way. There is only one G.O.A.T Him, Lionel Messi!” the 27-year-old told HLN.
The winger would also go on to comment on how Chelsea’s Champions League games against Barcelona last season did not turn out the way he would have hoped for.
But his sons – who are huge Messi fans – enjoyed the night at Stamford Bridge.
“Those two games against Barcelona were not my best memories of 2018. I was happy to play against Barcelona and Messi, but I didn’t deliver what I expected. I was disillusioned.”
“My three sons were there for the home at Stamford Bridge. The eldest is a big Messi fan – all of us are Messi fans, actually. He wanted to see Messi that day, because Messi is a special player.”
