The Dutchman likes everything about the Catalan side and can’t wait to join them.
“The president told me everything about the club and the advantages of playing there,” De Jong said to Barcelona‘s official media channels.
“It helped me a lot because I’ve always been a Barcelona player. I’ve wanted to play there since I was a kid.
“I like the players, I like the style; they are the team of my dreams.”
De Jong stated that he wants to be an important player for Barcelona and not just another player who fills the squad.
“My dream is to be an important player for the club,” he added. “I want to win a lot of titles there.”
Naturally, the midfielder is excited to play with Lionel Messi, who he regards as the greatest of all time.
“I’m looking forward to it,” he admitted, “I think he’s the best player of all time.
“He’s hard to describe. He’s the most complete player and can do whatever he wants. With or without the ball, he creates a lot of chances. He has an incredible left foot and his intelligence is on another level.”
