Barcelona defender Gerard Pique claimed that he is trying to convince HEAD coach Ernesto Valverde to play him upfront as a centre-forward.
The Spaniard scored Barcelona’s fourth goal against Lyon as the Catalans made it to the quarterfinals of the Champions League with a 5-1 win over the French side.
Pique made a surging run forward following a quick counter and converted Lionel Messi’s pin-point cross.
“If I see Luis Suarez looking tired then I’ll say to the coach to let me go up front,” he said after the match, according to Marca.
“I hope to convince him to put me there.
“I can see when I have an advantage and when I have a chance to score.
“I’ve always liked to help out in attack.”

When asked about a possible treble of trophies, the defender stated that the team is taking it one step at a time and focussing on the next challenge.
“We’re alive in all three competitions, but it’s too early to talk about a treble,” he said.
“We’ll go step by step.
“We’re in a similar position to last year and we have to learn from that experience.
“We have a tough match on Sunday.”
