One of the best back-up goalkeepers in the world, Jasper Cillessen could challenge himself at a different club in the summer, but Barcelona are calm about the goalkeeping situation at the club, according to Marca.
The Dutchman is a starter for his country and has the quality to start at most of the top clubs. Unfortunately for him, Marc-Andre ter Stegen is currently in the form of his life and it’s very unlikely that he will ever be first choice at Barcelona.
Cillessen was linked to a January exit and is now keen to leave for a new challenge. However, the Spanish giants are calm because they believe that there are several options available when it comes to replacing him.
The Dutchman has a release clause of €60 million in his contract with Barcelona which runs until 2021. The club will not let the player go for a price that’s less than €45 million and are confident that they can sign a replacement, should a necessity arise.
