  • Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele is racing against time in order to be 100 percent fit for Barcelona’s Champions League date with Manchester United at Old Trafford on April 10th.

The club issued a statement on March 14th saying that the Frenchman will be sidelined for 3-4 weeks due to a hamstring injury that was aggravated during their 5-1 win over Lyon.

AS reports that the former Borussia Dortmund player is fighting hard to ensure that he will be fit in time to take on United.

Rafinha, Luis Suarez and Dembele were the main attendees at the training facilities last week during the international break. Among them, Dembele was the only player who trained full-time every single day.

The 21-year-old has had a lot of problems with his hamstring – a muscle that’s extremely crucial for a player who relies on pace and body feints – in the past and the Barcelona medical staff are very cautious on this matter.

The plan is for him to get fit in two weeks, play limited minutes against Atletico Madrid on April 6th to test out his hamstring and then travel to Manchester for the crucial tie.

Dembele has won coach Ernesto Valverde’s trust and is expected to play a crucial role in the business end of the season.
