Barcelona back-up goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen believes that highly sought-after Dutch defender Matthijs de Ligt ‘knows what to do’ in regards to his future.

The Ajax captain has been linked to a move to Barcelona months after they captured another top Dutch talent and De Ligt’s very good friend Frenkie de Jong.

With teams like Paris Saint-Germain and the Manchester clubs entering the tussle, the 19-year-old has been presented with a wider choice of suitors.

Cillessen has urged the player to join the Catalan giants and claimed that he trusts him to take the right decision.

“I sat down with Matthijs de Ligt to talk about his future. I can only tell him good things about Barca, because it’s a great club and I have great feelings with Barca. I told him the same as Frenkie. Matthijs is a good boy, he knows what he has to do,” he said, according to Mundo Deportivo.
