Real Betis full-back Junior Firpo has welcomed speculation he could be set to sign for Barcelona this summer.
The 22-year-old has become a priority signing as Barca look for more cover at left-back with Jordi Alba having turned 30 this year.
Despite Betis’ mediocre season in 2018/19, Junior enhanced his glowing reputation as one of the best attacking full-backs in Spain.
Barca are said to be working on a deal to bring the Dominican in this summer, but only want to pay €20 million with Betis seeking a figure closer to €30m, according to Sport.
On the potential transfer Firpo told Mundo Deportivo: “I’m not unsettled. That news is coming out and the truth is that it is a compliment and a source of pride to be linked to important clubs such as Barcelona.
”But I am focused on Betis because it is my club and I also have huge gratitude because they have given me everything.
”I think it’s a sign that I’m doing things right. I think I’m in a great club and in a great team and that has helped me a lot.”
