  • Fellaini has been spotted in the Italian city this week with his twin brother Mansour – fuelling rumours he could be moving to Serie A.

The 29-year-old is contracted to the Old Trafford club until 2018 but United could recoup some of the £27.5 million they shelled out three years ago if they offload him next month.

Both Italian clubs could match Felli’s wage demands with the midfielder currently fetching around AED 545,595 per week.

Here’s three reasons why the Premier League giants should cash in:

HIS FACE DOESN’T FIT AT UNITED

Since signing for the club in 2013, it’s been a bit of a roller-coaster ride.

Despite enjoying a good season during the 2014-15 campaign and playing a strong hand in United’s FA Cup victory last term, Fellaini’s Red Devils career has been full of inconsistencies and drawn widespread criticism.

Although he has featured regularly this season and Mourinho has protected him with comments in the media, it doesn’t seem like their working relationship together will be anything more than short-term.

    PRONE TO COSTLY MISTAKES

The former Everton man, as he proved recently against his old side, is prone to making costly errors. His foul on Idrissa Gueye that led to the Toffees’ penalty equaliser in the recent draw at Goodison Park came only a matter of moments after he was sent on to sure up the game.

Fellaini, though effective in many aspects, has been making these kinds of mistakes for too long. For a man of his proven Premier League experience, he won’t change now.

    THE RETURN OF BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER

The German international is back on Mourinho’s radar and while he has yet to make a Premier League appearance this term – the Portuguese may be ready to deploy his services more regularly.

If he does so, then that could spell the end of the road for Fellaini while Morgan Schneiderlin’s future also looks bleak.
