  • The Portugal star is set to make Premier League debut.

The storm of the transfer window has dissipated and with the clouds clearing the attention turns back towards the pitch this weekend.

League football returns after the international break and several faces will be donning new shirts.

We take a look at the headline signings since the last weekend of fixtures and see what their chances of getting game time are.

Grzegorz Krychowiak (PSG – West Brom, Loan)

West Brom broke their rigid wage structure to bring the Pole in from the cold of PSG and he’s set to make his Premier League bow against Brighton.

The loan signing wasn’t selected for international duty and so has had several training sessions already, immersing himself in the culture of the club and Tony Pulis’s philosophy.

Starting him will mean omitting either Jake Livermore or James Morrison from a midfield three which is certain to have Gareth Barry starting.

Serge Aurier (PSG – Tottenham, £23m)

Mauricio Pochettino faces a bit of a problem with the 24-year-old as he’s yet to train with the squad having been away on international duty with the Ivory Coast.

He played 120 minutes in the World Cup qualifying double-header with Gabon and only returned to the club on Thursday.

However, Pochettino’s other option at right-back, Kieran Trippier, has been nursing an ankle injury and could miss the trip to Everton altogether while Spurs’ other new recruit Davinson Sanches is in the same boat as Aurier.

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal – Liverpool, £35m)

Where will Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fit in at Liverpool? His versatility means he can slot into four roles: CM, AM, wing back or winger but with such a huge game against Manchester City it’s unlikely Jurgen Klopp will throw him in immediately.

The 24-year-old took part in his first training session on Wednesday after being given a tour of the facilities by Jordan Henderson – having been among the small group of players who returned from the international break.

The £35million acquisition from Arsenal will seemingly start on the bench, though.

Renato Sanches (Bayern Munich – Swansea, Loan)

Arguably the biggest surprise of deadline day was Paul Clement’s ability to poach Renato Sanches on loan from his former employers Munich.

The Swans welcome Newcastle on Sunday and there’s every chance Sanches will feature – thankfully wearing No35 after his initial request to wear No85 was rejected by the Premier League.

Typically employed in centre-midfield, the 20-year-old will hope to make his mark straight away having failed to score once with Bayern.

Kevin Wimmer (Tottenham – Stoke, £18m)

The Austria international will have the toughest task of any new signing this weekend as he’ll likely go straight into the heart of Stoke’s defence to face free-scoring Man United.

Wimmer failed to produce on his promise with Spurs but Mark Hughes will hope he can add much needed steel.

He’s happy to be playing United in his first game but that all could change depending on the result.

Danny Drinkwater (Leicester – Chelsea, £35m)

If Drinkwater is to make his Chelsea debut, he’ll be doing so against his former club as the Premier League champions travel to Leicester.

Chelsea had to apply for an extended deadline to complete his signature but he’s been training with his new team-mates and the King Power Stadium will probably see the familiar face from the bench.
