Manchester City’s 6-0 win away to Watford was the talk of the Premier League last weekend.

Sergio Aguero burst into life with a hat-trick and an assist, prompting over 623,000 managers to draft him into their Fantasy Premier League teams since.

Meanwhile, Manchester United marched on with another 4-0 win while the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham only managed a point each.

Here are a few pointers to guide you ahead of Gameweek Six.

    CAPTAIN – DAVID SILVA | MANCHESTER CITY | 8.3M

The obvious pick for the captaincy is Sergio Aguero (11.6m) after his goal glut last weekend but it feels a little too on the nose. There’s every chance that the Argentine will get on the scoresheet again but it’s unlikely that he’ll be able to replicate his returns from the previous round.

City host a poor Crystal Palace side who are bottom of the league having failed to score a goal as yet. The Citizens are no doubt favourites for the game and should score two or more goals in all likelihood but they have a variety goal scorers at their disposal.

On the other hand, David Silva is firmly their creator in chief, although Kevin De Bruyne has rediscovered his form in recent weeks as well. The Spaniard remains the most likely to set up goals though and should be nailed on to do so again on Saturday.

    ALTERNATIVES

If you do have AGUERO in your side, it’s hard to ignore him and it has to be said that you can’t go too wrong with handing him the armband. HARRY KANE (12.5m) still divides opinion among FPL bosses but he does like a London derby and Spurs play away to West Ham. MOHAMED SALAH (9.2m) continues to impress for Liverpool who as well.

    BOLD CHOICE

ROBBIE BRADY (5.5m) scored a stunning free-kick for Burnley in midweek and already has a reputation as a set-piece specialist. With a creativity rating of 212.6 as well and having already bagged two assists so far, the midfielder looks like a bargain as Burnley host Huddersfield on Saturday.

    TWO INS

    MATT RITCHIE | NEWCASTLE UNITED  | 6.0M

Newcastle have surged up the table with three wins on the trot after suffering defeats in their opening two fixtures. They find themselves in fourth now and much of that has to do with Matt Ritchie and his delivery as the midfielder has provided the assists for four of their six goals this season.

At just 6m, the set-piece specialist is hard to ignore and Newcastle do have a good run of fixtures lined up apart from Liverpool at home next week.

    CESC FABREGAS | CHELSEA | 6.9M

One player who could prove to be great for a differential is Cesc Fabregas. He’s started every league game this season apart from Tottenham away for which he was suspended. Normally renowned for his regular assists, he’s inexplicably failed to provide any in four starts.

That has helped him fly under the radar but he does boast a creativity index of 193.1 and has managed 3.5 key passes per game, the second highest in the league so far. With only 6% ownership, and with a good spot of fixtures apart from hosting Manchester City next week, he’s one to consider bringing in.

    TWO OUTS

    N’GOLO KANTE | CHELSEA | 5.0M

For some reason, N’Golo Kante is owned by a massive 20.1% of FPL managers. He has scored one goal so far but with a threat rating of just 46, that’s not something that’s likely to become a habit.

His budget price is undoubtedly his biggest selling point but Christian Atsu at Newcastle or Steven Davis at Southampton offer far more at the same price.

    JAVIER HERNANDEZ | WEST HAM | 7.0M

Apart from his brace in the second week of the season, Javier Hernandez hasn’t looked promising at all. He’s still owned by 20.6% of FPL managers though when he has now been used on the wing to accommodate Andy Carroll (5.9m). If he’s not going to be in the box, there’s really no point to the Mexican.
