Hollywood’s latest superhero movie ‘Black Panther’ has become a raging hit not only in cinemas but on the football pitch as well with Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba becoming the latest to join the ‘Wakanda forever’ bandwagon.
After Lingard scored what turned out to be the match-winning goal against Chelsea on Sunday, he celebrated by performing the ‘Wakanda salute’ made famous by the movie’s leading character Chadwick Boseman.
Lingard was then joined by Pogba and the two rounded off victory celebrations with another rendition of the signature move.
The movie, set in the fictional land of Wakanda in Africa, has generated a lot of buzz across the cinematic universe and beyond with performers like Will Smith, Snoop Dogg giving their stamp of approval to the Marvel movie that explores tricky political issues including immigration.
Mohamed Salah, Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero are locked in a three-way battle to be crowned the Premier League’s top goalscorer for 2017/18 when the dust settles in May.
But only one of those hotshots averages more than a goal a game – can you guess who?
Roberto Firmino and Raheem Sterling also feature as the video above breaks down the amount of goals, minute per goal and assists of all five of the Premier League’s biggest goal threats.
Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan are hungry for more trophies after receiving a taste of their first under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
City romped to a 3-0 victory at Wembley as club veterans Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and David Silva scored the goals that sunk a sorry Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final.
It means Guardiola is officially up and running on the trophy front for City, who are also 13 points clear in the Premier League and already have a foot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
“We had a wonderful year until now and to have already won one trophy it’s nice. We’ve done really well in the league but we need to focus on what we have to do there,” said De Bruyne.
