  • Manchester United host Swansea at home on Friday, with the intention to secure hopes of finishing second in the Premier League season.

Jose Mourinho will face Manchester City next week and will need to up their game before they face the leaders as a win for Pep Guardiola‘s team would seal the title at the Eithad.

Here we take a look at key stats and facts ahead of the game.

    – Manchester United have already beaten Swansea twice this season without conceding a goal – they won 4-0 at Liberty Stadium in the Premier League in August and 2-0 in a League Cup tie in October.

    – The Swans have avoided defeat in three of their last five visits to Old Trafford (W2 D1 L2) in all competitions, having lost eight of their first 10 games there against Man Utd.

    – The Red Devils have scored in all 15 of their home matches against Swansea in all competitions – only against Luton (19) and Port Vale (21) have they played more often without failing to score in their history.

    Andy King of Swansea City

    – Man Utd have won all three of their home Premier League games kicking off at 3pm on a Saturday this season, scoring seven goals and conceding none.

    – After winning their opening away league game under Carlos Carvalhal, Swansea have since failed to win any of their next four on the road (D3 L1). That sole away win was in Carvalhal’s only previous encounter with a fellow Portuguese manager in the competition (2-1 at Marco Silva’s Watford).

    – Swansea have won their last two Premier League games against ‘big six’ sides, albeit in home games (vs Liverpool and Arsenal); this after a run of just one win in 20 league games against these clubs (W1 D4 L15).

    – All 14 of Jordan Ayew’s Premier League goals have been scored in the second half of matches, and he has scored more goals than any other player in Premier League history to never score in the first half.

    – Jose Mourinho has never lost against Swansea in all competitions (P9 W7 D2 L0), defeating all four of the previous managers he’s faced (Laudrup, Monk, Bradley and Clement).

    Lukaku of Manchester United

    – Romelu Lukaku – currently on 99 Premier League goals – has been directly involved in 14 goals in 14 games in all competitions so far in 2018 (10 goals, 4 assists).

    – Paul Pogba has scored in both of his Premier League appearances against Swansea, while also providing one assist against them.
