  • The Premier League relegation dogfight is coming to a climax with the end of the season closing in and our team of writers have looked at who they think will stay up and drop down from the top-flight.

Most of the following six teams have three matches left to play while West Brom and Stoke only have two fixtures apiece.

Here’s a quick look at the bottom six as it stands before we have our say:

Have your say, too – get in touch via Twitter and Facebook.

So, here we go. Kicking things off with the Baggies…

    WEST BROM – 28 POINTS:

TOM BIGGS: Despite their improved form under Darren Moore, it’s a case of too little too late for the Baggies. Relegation to be confirmed this weekend after a draw with Spurs before a meaningless trip to Crystal Palace.

STUART APPLEBY: It’s remarkable their relegation isn’t official yet but interim boss Moore has done well. Defeat at home to Champions League-chasing Spurs is inevitable though and Palace trip is pointless.

BRENDON NETTO: They’ve shown real fight of late and that will hold them in good stead in the Championship. Expect a battling display against Spurs that’ll likely end in defeat nonetheless and seal their fate.

    STOKE CITY – 30 POINTS:

TB: Stoke can give themselves a fighting chance with a win against Crystal Palace on Saturday, but their dreadful away form means defeat at Swansea on the final day is likely to condemn them to relegation.

SA: Left it all too late unfortunately and although both remaining matches are more than winnable, Paul Lambert’s men just don’t look like recording two wins on the bounce despite improving defensively.

BN: With safety secured for Palace, a point could be on offer at Selhurst Park. Scoring is a big concern for but in a final day showdown against Swansea, they should have enough to earn a decisive win.

    SOUTHAMPTON – 32 POINTS:

TB: Four points from their final three games are required. The away trip to Swansea will be decisive, but a point against Everton this weekend would be a bonus ahead of Man City on the last day.

SA: Everton have a formidable home record and are finishing the season strong, so getting a result there won’t be easy. Crunch game with Swansea is an old fashioned six-pointer while City test is a lottery.

BN: The Saints scraped together four points in their last two league games under Mark Hughes and will need at least another three. Possess the quality to beat the Toffees or Swansea before City await.

    SWANSEA – 33 POINTS:

TB: With both Southampton and Stoke to come at home, Swansea will fancy their chances of survival. A point at Bournemouth this weekend and a win on the last day against the Potters should be enough.

SA: The Welsh side will take at least a point from their away trip to the Cherries and go into huge game against the Saints with confidence. Should also beat a then likely already relegated Stoke on final day.

BN: Given their run-in, the Swans are masters of their own fate. However, they haven’t won in their last six league outings. If Stoke keep their hopes alive come the final day, they could be in trouble

    HUDDERSFIELD – 35 POINTS:

TB: Defeats away to Man City and Chelsea will mean Huddersfield need to beat Arsenal in Arsene Wenger’s final league game in charge. The Terriers have the hardest run-in and their chances of survival look slim.

SA: In virtual freefall and with the most difficult run-in on paper but facing sides who have problems of their own. City will be tough but a draw against struggling Chelsea is possible and Arsenal are woeful away.

BN: Three points clear of the drop zone but it isn’t enough as they’ll be relying on results elsewhere. Unlikely to get anything at City or Chelsea and Arsenal will want fitting send-off for Wenger.

    WEST HAM – 35 POINTS:

TB: Leicester and Everton have very little to play for, and draws in both of those games, either side of a loss to Manchester United, will keep West Ham in the top flight for another season.

SA: David Moyes has done what was asked of him, although it hasn’t been plain-sailing. Could claim all three points at Leicester, a defeat is likely to United but Hammers will grind out point against Everton.

BN: The favourites to survive as things stand. A point against either Leicester or Everton should mean Moyes will not need a result on his return to Old Trafford in between to keep the Hammers up.
