Manchester City and Liverpool enjoyed strong wins in Gameweek 6, while Burnley sprung into life by thumping Bournemouth 4-0 at home.

The Citizens delivered plenty of Fantasy Premier League points with Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero all on the scoresheet.

The Premier League champions are favourites to deliver big again in Gameweek 7 as they host Brighton at Etihad Stadium, while Chelsea and Liverpool go head-to-head.

Manchester United travel to West Ham. Arsenal and Tottenham have good fixtures at home to Watford and away to Huddersfield, respectively.

There’s a big attacking assets versus defensive assets clash on the cards as well with Bournemouth entertaining Crystal Palace.

    CAPTAIN – SERGIO AGUERO | MANCHESTER CITY | 11.4M

It was last-chance ‘Salahoon’ for Liverpool‘s main man – and controversial Puskas award winner – last week and he finally delivered with a goal at home to Southampton.

However, Mohamed Salah should’ve had more though, perhaps even a hat-trick. But his goal will have given his confidence a much-needed boost.

There are move appealing options than the Egyptian this week though, who has a trip to Stamford Bridge to contend with. Chief among the captain candidates is FPL favourite Aguero.

The Argentine hasn’t replicated his GW2 haul of 20 points yet, but you can’t fault him on consistency. He’s delivered in every GW other than the first and third so far with four goals and four assists this season. City’s all-time leading goalscorer has also hit the woodwork three times this term – only Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has matched that.

As long as Aguero is fit, you always sense that the next big score is just around the corner. And it could be with City hosting Brighton this weekend, who are sixth in the league for shots conceded per game (15).

    ALTERNATIVES

ALEXANDER LACAZETTE (9.4m) was initially subjected to a bench role as Unai Emery started Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up front, but the Frenchman has forced his way into the starting XI. He’s delivered returns in each of the last four GWs, starting three in that time, and amassing 29 points. He looks like a different player from the one who struggled last season.

HARRY KANE (12.4m) is back in contention for the armband after probably his longest spell without being a prime candidate. Tottenham have good fixtures in the next three GWs, starting with Huddersfield away this weekend. Kane registered four shots on target as he scored and earned maximum bonus points against Brighton. That’s as many shots on target as he managed in the previous five GWs, so perhaps he’s turning a corner.

    BOLD CHOICE

RICHARLISON (6.6m) is back from suspension and has scored three goals in four games this season. He blanked against Arsenal last time out, but looked extremely dangerous having forced Petr Cech into a couple of excellent saves. Everton will face Fulham at Goodison Park this Gameweek.

    TWO TO WATCH

    JAMIE VARDY  | EVERTON | 8.9M

The Vardy Party may be starting up again. In his second game back from suspension, the striker bagged a goal and assist for an 11-point haul last week. Leicester City have a fine run of fixtures at the moment and the Englishman is on penalties. At an ownership of just four per cent, he offers a great differential as well.

    RAUL JIMENEZ | WOLVES | 5.5M

Raul Jimenez has not done justice to his underlying stats so far this season. His 18 shots is joint-fifth in the league and more than what Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku or Callum Wilson have managed. He’s also let himself down by missing six big chances this season, with only Gabriel Jesus missing more (7). That said, he’s still managed two goals and an assist this term and Wolves’ immediate fixtures suggests he should add to that soon.

    TWO TO AVOID

    BENJAMIN MENDY | MANCHESTER CITY | 6.3M

The most concerning thing about Benjamin Mendy’s injury is that City have stayed extremely quiet about it. Being a metatarsal injury, he could be out for a significant period of time. At 6.3m, it’s a complete waste to have him warm your bench. Fabian Delph (5.3m) is an option as he will replace the Frenchman at left-back, but Aymeric Laporte (5.6m) is worth considering as well having started every game so far.

    VIRGIL VAN DIJK | LIVERPOOL | 6.0M

Unlike Mendy, Virgil van Dijk shouldn’t be sidelined for too long. He may even return to face Chelsea. However, with the seed of doubt planted, it may be a good opportunity to get rid. Andrew Robertson is a far better option in the Reds’ back-line and is hogging the bonus points having registered seven this season to Van Dijk’s two.
