  • The tenth round of Premier League fixtures was typically filled with drama as Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea all maintained their unbeaten starts to the campaign with victories over Tottenham, Cardiff and Burnley respectively.

Arsenal sit in fourth place after being held to a draw by Crystal Palace, whilst Bournemouth and Watford are within touching distance of the top four after picking up crucial wins over relegation threatened sides Fulham and Huddersfield.

Manchester United returned to winning ways by overcoming Everton but Wolves slipped to their second successive defeat against Brighton, who have now won three in a row.

    Here’s our winners and losers.

    WINNERS

    Callum Wilson – Bournemouth

The Cherries have started the season in spectacular fashion, with Wilson proving to be one of the league’s deadliest strikers so far.

He notched two more goals in the 3-0 victory over Fulham to take his total tally in the league this term to five.

His pace, trickery and expert finishing was simply too much to handle for Fulham and surely, it must only be a matter of time before we see Wilson earn an England call up.

    Sadio Mane – Liverpool

Mane has had a quiet couple of weeks and has struggled with injury, but there was no stopping him at Anfield on Saturday.

The forward’s first goal was a scorching effort into the top corner just after the hour mark, with his second coming three minutes from the end.

With Liverpool playing Arsenal next at the Emirates, the Senegalese star has found his goal scoring touch just in time.

    Ross Barkley – Chelsea

Another Englishman taking the top flight by storm this season. Barkley put in a magical performance against Burnley which saw him score once and provide two assists.

The midfielder was running the show at Turf Moor and was virtually unplayable, regularly cutting through the Clarets’ defence with ease.

Sarri called him a “complete” player after the game and it’s hard to disagree with him after that performance from the former Everton man.

    LOSERS

    Kevin McDonald – Fulham

It was another horror show in defence for Fulham, who has conceded a league high 28 goals in 10 matches.

McDonald simply could not handle the pace of the Cherries’ attackers and picked up his second yellow card with 20 minutes remaining.

The 22-year-old had no arguments for both challenges and Fulham’s problems continue to mount.

Mark Noble – West Ham United

The West Ham skipper was sent for an early shower just before half-time against Leicester City.

The midfielder’s high lunging challenge on Wilfred Ndidi saw him sent off for the fifth time in his career with the Hammers.

Noble will now miss the next three games including two huge league clashes with fellow struggling sides Burnley and Huddersfield.

    Leicester City

On Saturday evening, the world of football lost a true hero. Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha tragically lost his life after a helicopter accident following his team’s 1-1 draw with West Ham.

‘The Boss’ was the mastermind behind Leicester’s fairy tale Premier League triumph in 2016 and made an incredible difference to the community through his generous contributions to various causes.

The much-loved owner made a difference on the pitch as well as off it and touched the lives of numerous individuals in this country during his eight years in charge of the club.
