  • Sergio Aguero registered his 250th career league goal by helping Manchester City defeat Liverpool 2-1 at the Etihad.

Here we examine his career in numbers.

250 – league goals scored for Independiente, Atletico Madrid and City.

153 – Premier League goals scored by Aguero for City.

223 – appearances to reach the landmark.

40 – number of Premier League assists provided.

7 – Aguero has scored in each of his seven Premier League home appearances against Liverpool.

37 – goals in Premier League matches between the ‘big six’ clubs since 2011. This is the highest total with Harry Kane second on 21 and Wayne Rooney third on 20.

4 – reached 30 goals in a season for City for the fourth time in 2017-18.

33 – highest total in a campaign for City, in 2016-17.

13 – his treble against Huddersfield in August marked his 13th hat-trick for City in all competitions.

3 – number of times he has scored four or more goals for City. He hit four against Leicester last February and against Tottenham in October 2014, while he netted five times in a 6-1 win over Newcastle 12 months later.

9 – Premier League hat-tricks, a mark bettered only by Alan Shearer (11) and equalled by Robbie Fowler. Harry Kane has eight.

14 – Newcastle are his favourite Premier League opponents, with Aguero scoring 14 goals against them including that five-goal haul and another hat-trick last season.

6 – he has won six major trophies with City – three Premier League titles and three League Cups – to add to his 2010 Europa League triumph with Atletico Madrid and 2008 Olympic gold medal with Argentina.
