Arsenal closed the gap to fourth-placed Chelsea to just three points with a 2-0 win at home in the Premier League.

Goals in the first half from Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny were enough to secure all three points for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.

Here, we rate the performances of the Chelsea players.

    CHELSEA 4-3-3

Kepa Arrizzabalaga – Was beaten at the near post but the strike was phenomenal from Lacazette. Made a couple of outstanding saves to limit the damage. 7

Cesar Azpilicueta – Had his hands full with Sead Kolasinac bombing down the outside of Aubameyang and largely coped with some strong defending. 6

Antonio Rudiger – Had a chance from a corner but didn’t make a good connection. Was one of Chelsea’s better defenders. 6

David Luiz – Was culpable at the start with the Blues struggling in their defensive third but produced real quality with his distribution. 5

Marcos Alonso – Got forward at will but the space behind him stretched Chelsea at times. Struck the upright with a header from a corner. 6

N’Golo Kante – Covered a lot of ground and got forward at every opportunity. Read the game well in midfield and help drag Chelsea forward in the second half. 6

Jorginho – Was suffocated during Arsenal’s fast start and struggled to get going. Was decent without the ball but didn’t have his usual influence on it. 5

Mateo Kovacic – Was anonymous in the first half and didn’t make much of an impact at the start of the second. Replaced on the hour mark. 4

Pedro – Relentless runner and got Chelsea on the front foot with his darts in behind. Couldn’t quite fashion a clear chance to score though. 6

Eden Hazard – Isolated up front on his own and couldn’t get into the game. Better when Olivier Giroud was brought off the bench. 5

Willian – Showed good pace and trickery but was marshaled well by Hector Bellerin and never really found a good opening. 6

    SUBS

Ross Barkley (63′) – Provided more drive from midfield when he came on but also picked up a booking for a reckless challenge. 5

Olivier Giroud (68′) – Wasn’t involved too much in front of goal but his presence did help free up Hazard a bit. 5

Callum Hudson-Odoi (80′) – Came on too late to make an impact. N/A
