Manchester City swept aside Arsenal with an emphatic performance, smashing three past the Gunners and letting just one go.

Sergio Aguero was the hero of the game, having bagged all three goals. Laurent Koscielny pulled one back for Arsenal in reply to Aguero’s opener. However, it was all City after that goal and Arsenal barely created any threat.

We take a look at how the Arsenal players performed in this massive defeat.

BERND LENO 7/10: Says a lot about the team’s performance when the keeper is the best player. Leno prevented a thrashing at Etihad Stadium.

STEPHEN LICHTSTEINER 4/10: All three goals came from the left side of City’s attack. The right-back clearly has some explaining to do.

SHKODRAN MUSTAFI 5/10: Dismal performance from the German. No resistance to City’s attacking threats whatsoever. Could have done better, particularly against City’s third.

LAURENT KOSCIELNY 5/10: Erroneous in defence, but scored the equaliser to prevent a first-half meltdown from Arsenal.

NACHO MONREAL 5/10: Left pockets of space that Bernardo Silva failed to capitalise on, bagged the assist but woeful in defence.

LUCAS TORREIRA 6/10: Can’t blame the Uruguayan for failing to win the midfield battle against arguably the best midfield in the league. But he has had better days and a yellow card doesn’t help his case either.

SEAD KOLASINAC 6/10: Credit to Kolasinac for playing out of position, but he clearly looked out of place and this gamble by Unai Emery did not work out.

ALEX IWOBI 3/10: Worst player on the pitch. Lost the ball to hand City the lead in the first minute, was a burden for the remaining time he was on the pitch.

MATTEO GUENDOUZI 6/10: Mixed bags for the youngster. Tasked with man-marking Kevin De Bruyne and did a good job in the first half, sub-par in the second.

ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE 6/10: Tried making the most of whatever little chances were created. Dropped deeper and tried to create, but failed to achieve anything significant.

PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG 6/10: Again, can’t blame the striker for not getting the goal when the supply was cut-off. Linked up with Lacazette very well on a couple of occasions, but to no avail.

    SUBSTITUTES

AARON RAMSEY 5/10: Failed to produce that super-sub performance that he has delivered on numerous occasions so far this season.

DENIS SUAREZ 6/10: Not the debut he would have hoped for, failed to build on a couple of dribbles he managed to pull off.

KONSTANTINOS MAVROPANOS N/A: Came on for the last 10 minutes. Can’t be assessed.
