A low-scoring Gameweek 23 hit some Fantasy Premier League managers hard with an average score of just 44 points.
Manchester City‘s Sergio Aguero bagged a brace but Kevin De Bruyne in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, Manchester United were beaten 2-0 at Premier League leaders Liverpool as Leicester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham all dropped points.
Double Gameweek 24 promises a lot more though with Liverpool playing twice away to Wolves and West Ham while the Hammers also take on Leciester away.
Here are a few tips to help guide you through DGW24.
CAPTAIN – MOHAMED SALAH | LIVERPOOL | 12.4M
If you’re really looking to capitalise on the DGW then Mohamed Salah may just be the man for the job. There are plenty of options within that Liverpool side but the Egyptian remains the most explosive of the lot.
With Sadio Mane enduring back-to-back blanks, Salah is now the man in form and also a better differential considering he has an ownership of just 27.5 per cent compared to his team-mate’s 40.7 per cent at the time of writing.
He has produced five goals and two assists in the last seven GWs, while bagging three double-figure hauls in that time – showcasing his ability to deliver big. Salah also leads the way with shots per game (3.7) in the league and faces Wolves and West Ham away.
ALTERNATIVES
TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD (7.5m) is the best defensive option in DGW24 with six clean sheets on the bounce. He’s averaged 10 points per game during that period and has taken his tally to 11 assists and two goals for the season.
SERGIO AGUERO (11.9m) delivered a late brace in GW23 and remains a strong captain candidate as City travel to Sheffield United with five goals in his last two games, peppering the goal with 13 shots.
BOLD CHOICE
LUCAS MOURA (7.1m) leading the Tottenham attack in Harry Kane’s absence and is an intriguing differential with an ownership of just 5.1 per cent. He looked dangerous in his last outing against Watford and could well deliver against a suspect Norwich defence.
Jose Mourinho has admitted that Lucas Moura is playing at an incredible level for Tottenham Hotspur:

ONE TO GET
BEN FOSTER | WATFORD | 4.9M
Nigel Pearson has transformed Watford’s defence since taking over the side and that has made Ben Foster an excellent option in goal. He has the most FPL points among keepers with 96 and no one has more than his 8 clean sheets. He faces Aston Villa away this week.
ONE TO AVOID
MASON MOUNT | CHELSEA | 6.2M
Still owned by over 17 per cent of FPL managers, Mason Mount is struggling for form. He has only mustered one return in his last eight games and Chelsea travel to the Emirates to player Arsenal next.
BARGAIN BUY
LEANDRO TROSSARD | BRIGHTON | 5.8M
Brighton have a good run ahead and take on a woeful Bournemouth defence this week. Leandro Trossard is playing regularly and has found some form with a goal and assist in the last four GWs. He’s owned by just half a per cent of FPL managers despite impressing for the Seagulls lately.
