Double Gameweek 24 in Fantasy Premier League disappointed for many managers who backed Sadio Mane as their captain while some even triple captained him. The Senegalese forward went off injured half an hour into Liverpool‘s first of their two games.
An average score of just 53 is rather modest for a DGW but worked brilliantly for those who stuck the armband on Mohamed Salah as the Egyptian bagged a goal and assist for the Premier League leaders in their second game at West Ham.
Manchester City‘s Sergio Aguero kept up his form by scoring the decisive goal off the bench in a 1-0 win while Nick Pope racked up the points against Manchester United who were beaten 2-0.
Leicester City‘s clash with Chelsea this week is only overshadowed by City’s trip to Tottenham while United host Wolves.
Gameweek 25 also sees Liverpool welcome Southampton to Anfield as Arsenal travel to Burnley.
Here are a few tips to help guide you through GW25.
CAPTAIN – MOHAMED SALAH | LIVERPOOL | 12.5M
With Mane out injured, Salah is the undisputed main man in attack for Liverpool. He’s a top captain candidate again given that his involvement seems to have grown in his team-mate’s absence.
His shots per game going into DGW24 was at 3.7, already a league high. In the two games during DGW24 he registered 11 shots, raising his season average to 3.9 per game.
Liverpool aren’t exactly blowing teams away at the moment and Southampton have been fairly solid. However, they’re creating enough and when they do score, the stats from the last two games suggest that Salah will have something to do with it.
He has blanked just once in his last five games which have included two double-figure hauls.
ALTERNATIVES
TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD (7.6m) remains the best defensive option with seven clean sheets in his last eight games. He hasn’t blanked since GW16 and has taken his tally to 12 FPL assists and two goals for the campaign.
JACK GREALISH (6.7m) has two double-figure hauls in his last two away games and takes on Bournemouth next. With seven goals and six assists this term the midfielder is the key man for Aston Villa.
BOLD CHOICE
CHRIS WOOD (6.2m) has quietly gone on a good run of form with three goals and an assist in the last four GWs. Arsenal’s defence remains vulnerable and with five headed goals this season, Wood’s just the sort of striker who could hurt them.

ONE TO GET
LUCAS DIGNE | EVERTON | 5.8M
Lucas Digne is showing good form again with two assists and a clean sheet in the last four GWs. He’s created 10 chances and three big chances in that time, proving his potential for attacking returns.
ONE TO AVOID
SERGIO AGUERO | MANCHESTER CITY | 12.0M
As ludicrous as it sounds given his form and reputation, if you don’t already own Aguero you’ve probably missed the bus. City face Tottenham, Leicester, United, Chelsea and Liverpool in their next seven games and won’t be active in GW28. Given that the league is virtually lost and Pep Guardiola is sure to turn attentions to the Champions League, the Argentine forward is a huge rotation risk moving forward. Spend your 12m elsewhere.

BARGAIN BUY
AARON MOOY | BRIGHTON | 4.8M
Fresh from signing a new contract, Aaron Mooy has looked in good nick of late. He’s a cheap option and selected by just 0.7 per cent of teams. He has two double-figure hauls in his last four outings and has excellent fixtures ahead.
