The post-lockdown Premier League fixture list is a hectic one which means there’s precious little time between Fantasy Premier League Gameweeks.

One way to ensure you keep raking in the points is by nailing your captaincy pick and that’s precisely what we aim to help you with.

We analyse the best options for the armband every GW, breaking them down into three categories: Top Pick, Alternative and Bold Choice.

Here are the picks for GW35+…

TOP PICK – JAMIE VARDY | LEICESTER CITY | 9.7M

    Jamie Vardy

    Jamie Vardy

After failing to score in the first three games since the restart, Jamie Vardy is once again the life of the party. A brace against Crystal Palace was followed by a late equaliser at home to Arsenal.

What’s most encouraging is that he attempted nine shots over those two games. Considering that his shots per game over the season is averaged at 2.3, that’s welcome news for his FPL owners.

The 33-year-old is also gunning for his first Premier League Golden Boot as he leads the charts with 22 strikes this season, two ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Foxes travel to Bournemouth where they will be greeted by a woeful defence that Vardy should be eager to exploit.

    ALTERNATIVE – MOHAMED SALAH | LIVERPOOL | 12.5M

    Mohamed Salah

Graeme Souness described Mohamed Salah as “super selfish” after Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Brighton in GW34+. While the intention was to criticise the Egypt star, those words are music to the ear of FPL managers.

The Liverpool winger’s brace on that occasion took him to 19 goals for the season, putting a third-straight Golden Boot within his sights. Only Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry have managed to bag the award three times on the bounce and they did it as out-and-out strikers.

Jurgen Klopp rested Roberto Firmino in GW33+ and then Sadio Mane in GW34+ so it would appear that Salah is next in line to be benched. However, with nothing but records to play for until the end of the campaign, the Liverpool star will be desperate to keep playing in order to finish as top scorer and his manager may just oblige.

With three goals and three assists in the last four GWs, form is on his side. Apart from the rotation risk, the only other concern is that Liverpool face Burnley who have kept three clean sheets in the four games, conceding just one goal.

BOLD CHOICE – PHIL FODEN | MANCHESTER CITY | 5.4M

    Phil Foden

Phil Foden has been one of the best players in the league since the restart. The youngster has four goals and an assist in that time, averaging a goal involvement every 56.8 minutes.

After playing only 60 minutes against Newcastle, he should be afforded another start at Brighton. But the rotation risk is still high given Pep Guardiola’s reputation so handing him the armband, even for an inviting fixture like this one, is a bit of a punt.
