It took a while but we’re finally starting to see a return to normalcy in this Fantasy Premier League season ahead of Gameweek 10.

Chelsea host Tottenham at Stamford Bridge in the big match this weekend while Manchester City and Arsenal entertain Burnley and Wolves respectively.

Meanwhile, Manchester United travel to Southampton and Liverpool make the trip to Brighton.

Here are a few tips to help guide you through GW10.

CAPTAIN – KEVIN DE BRUYNE | MANCHESTER CITY | 11.6M

    Kevin De Bruyne

At the time of writing, Kevin De Bruyne’s ownership is under 18 per cent, astonishingly low for a player of his calibre who was the top points scorer last season. It’s all the more surprising because he’s only missed one game through injury.

Unfortunately, he’s blanked in half his games this term and ranks 32nd among midfielders, so his lack of ownership is understandable.

However, the Belgian has started to show signs of returning to his best form. He had 13 shots – more than any other player in the league – and eight attempted assists in the last three GWs.

City have great fixtures ahead, beginning with Burnley at home, so take advantage of his differential status while it lasts.

    ALTERNATIVE

JAMIE VARDY (10.2m) blanked against Liverpool in GW9 but had three goals and two assists in the previous three GWs. He’s behind only Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the scoring charts with eight goals and enjoys an appealing fixture at home to Fulham this week.

    BOLD CHOICE

PATRICK BAMFORD (6.1m) is yet to blank when playing away from home. In fact, apart from Fulham’s visit to Elland Road in GW2, all of his returns have come on his travels. He makes the trip to Goodison Park this time where Everton are yet to keep a clean sheet and are conceding 2.25 goals per game.

    ONE TO GET

    JAMES MADDISON | LEICESTER CITY | 7.0M

    James Maddison

After being an FPL favourite for the first half of last season, James Maddison was on the wane as Leicester City dropped out of the top four. This campaign has been blighted by injury so far but he’s finally getting back on track with starts in the last two GWs. Despite facing Liverpool and Wolves in those encounters, he still managed to create an impressive six chances and returns to fitness at the opportune moment with the Foxes facing Fulham, Sheffield United and Brighton next. An ownership of just 2.4 per cent makes him a great differential.

    ONE TO AVOID

    NICK POPE | BURNLEY | 5.4M

    Nick Pope

There’s nothing wrong with Nick Pope’s ability as a goalkeeper and he’s even kept clean sheets in his last two games. However, those were against Brighton and Crystal Palace and their fixtures take a turn now with City, Everton and Arsenal next. The Clarets haven’t been their usual stubborn selves defensively either, already conceding three or more goals three times this season.

    BARGAIN BUY

    THEO WALCOTT | SOUTHAMPTON | 5.8M

    Theo Walcott

Danny Ings’ absence through injury appears to have done wonders for Che Adams’ production, but it’s been equally beneficial for Theo Walcott as well. Listed as a midfielder, the 31-year-old has partnered Adams up front with the Saints’ talisman sidelined. That has resulted in an attacking return in each of the last four games for Walcott, bagging three assists and a goal.
