Round 18 in Fantasy Premier League brings with it the first big Blank Gameweek of the season.

The likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Leicester City and Leeds United are all inactive for this group of fixtures.

Manchester City and Arsenal have appealing home fixtures against Brighton and Crystal Palace respectively.

Elsewhere, Manchester United make the trip to Burnley and Tottenham play host to Fulham.

Here are a few tips to help guide you through BGW18.

CAPTAIN – KEVIN DE BRUYNE | MAN CITY | 11.7M

    Kevin De Bruyne

Kevin De Bruyne may have started the FA Cup win over Birmingham City, but with the contest decided by half-time he didn’t emerge for the second period.

As such, there should be no concerns over his freshness when Pep Guardiola’s side host a struggling Brighton outfit at home. City have quietly kept pace with Liverpool at the top and now look in prime position to pounce on any more slip-ups from the champions and launch a title charge.

De Bruyne’s recent form has been a driving force, bagging a goal and two assists in the last three GWs. He also has the most big chances created (6) in last six GWs and should be in position to take advantage of Brighton’s vulnerability from set-pieces.

    ALTERNATIVE

BRUNO FERNANDES (11.3m) has been a force of nature away from home and travels to Burnley this time around. He has the most double-figure hauls this season and three in the last four GWs.

    BOLD CHOICE

CALLUM WILSON (6.5m) has been quiet of late with a depleted Newcastle side struggling to cope with a difficult run of fixtures. However, those fixtures ease up now and he still has eight goals and four assists this season plus Sheffield are yet to keep a clean sheet in the current campaign.

    ONE TO GET

    RAHEEM STERLIN| MAN CITY | 11.4M

    Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling was not named in the squad to face Birmingham with a slight fitness concern. However, the Englishman should be fine for the visit of Brighton. He has returns in each of the last four GWs, differential and features twice in GW19.

    ONE TO AVOID

    CHARLIE TAYLOR | BURNLEY | 4.6M

    Charlie Taylor

Charlie Taylor has served FPL managers well this season but limped out of the last game with a hamstring injury. He remains a doubt for the next couple of games and may not be worth holding beyond that as well as he has tough fixtures until GW23.

    BARGAIN BUY

    EMILE ROWE SMITH | ARSENAL | 4.4M

    Emile Rowe Smith

It’s no coincidence that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal has begun to click just as Emile Smith Rowe has been deployed as their starting No10. The youngster is having a real impact on games and has three assists in the last three GWs. He even came off the bench and scored in the FA Cup against Newcastle.
