The big stories of Gameweek 20 in Fantasy Premier League were the hauls from Manchester City’s assets in Kevin De Bruyne’s absence and yet another blank from Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United faltered.

The Red Devils travel to Arsenal in GW21 while City host Sheffield United and Chelsea welcome Burnley to Stamford Bridge.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Tottenham are on the road to West Ham and Brighton respectively.

Here are a few tips to help guide you through GW21.

    CAPTAIN – SON HEUNG-MIN | TOTTENHAM | 9.8M

    Son Heung-min

A number of FPL managers are scrambling around to replace Harry Kane after the Tottenham striker picked up an ankle injury in the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.

With Jamie Vardy also sidelined, there’s no premium option to pivot to up front so it’s likely you’ll have plenty of cash left over after to moving down to cheaper alternative.

That means there’s an opportunity to upgrade your midfield and Son Heung-min may be the man for the job. The South Korean has blanked four times in the six GWs but that shouldn’t deter managers given his explosive nature.

The Spurs attacker has seven double-figure hauls this season, only Bruno Fernandes [8] has more. With Kane out of action, Son be the focal point of the attack and will likely assume responsibility for penalties as well.

    ALTERNATIVE

ILKAY GUNDOGAN (5.7m) is on penalties in De Bruyne’s absence and also seems to be stepping into his midfield role nicely. He now has seven goals and only two blanks in last eight GWs.

    BOLD CHOICE

JAMES MADDISON (7.2m) failed to deliver in GW20 but still has three goals in the last four GWs. Leeds’ expansive style should suit him, offering him ample opportunities to capitalise in the transition.

    ONE TO GET

    HARVEY BARNES | LEICESTER CITY | 6.8M

    Harvey Barnes

Another Leicester player who should prove key to hurting Leeds on the break is Harvey Barnes. He’s been in excellent form of late with three goals, two assists and just one blank in the last six GWs.

    ONE TO AVOID

    ANTHONY MARTIAL | MANCHESTER UNITED | 8.8M

    Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial has always had a tendency to blow hot or cold and he’s certainly on a cold streak at the moment. He’s blanked in the last four GWs and with Edinson Cavani’s form trending up, he’s in real danger of losing his starting berth to the 33-year-old Uruguayan.

    BARGAIN BUY

    ALPHONSE AREOLA | FULHAM | 4.5M

    Alphonse Areola

After a shambolic start to the season, Fulham have gradually come to terms with the demands of the Premier League and have been far better in defence of late. They’ve conceded more than a single goal just once in the last eight GWs. Alphonse Areola has been in tremendous form and according to fbref.com, he has the highest Post-Shot Expected Goal difference in the league [+6.3].  That means he’s deemed to have conceded six fewer goals than he should’ve this season and a double-figure haul in GW20 was just reward for his efforts.
