After a slow start to Gameweek 21 in Fantasy Premier League, the likes of Patrick Bamford [one goal, two assists] and Mohamed Salah [two goals] came to the party and ensured respectable tallies for most managers.

Tottenham host Chelsea in the big match of this round, while Man City travel to Burnley.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Manchester United entertain Brighton and Southampton respectively.

Here are a few tips to help guide you through GW22.

    CAPTAIN – MOHAMED SALAH | LIVERPOOL | 12.6M

    Mohamed Salah

After six blanks in a row, FPL legend Mo Salah ended his drought in spectacular fashion. Two goals of audacious quality to help Liverpool brush aside West Ham reminded managers just how good he can be.

He’s now leading the race for the Golden Boot by three clear goals with 15 to his name and is also the top points scorer in the game with 146. Naturally, he’s back in contention for the captaincy and while that may seem like a knee-jerk reaction, he’s actually looked sharp of late, scoring twice against United in the FA Cup and was unfortunate to have his goal at Tottenham ruled out by VAR.

The Reds take on Brighton at home who have kept three clean sheets in a row and are fresh from a victory over Spurs. But the hosts remain clear favourites for this encounter and a couple of goal involvements for Salah seems likely.

    ALTERNATIVE

RAHEEM STERLING (11.6m) was rested in GW21, much to the chagrin of several FPL managers, but they can take comfort in the fact that it makes him nailed on to start this time around. City have scored three or more goals in six of their last seven meetings with Burnley.

    BOLD CHOICE

JACK GREALISH (7.7m) has been sensational this season with 15 goal involvements and the most chances created [67].

    ONE TO GET

    JOHN STONES | MANCHESTER CITY | 5.2M

    John Stones

John Stones has enjoyed a resurgence this season and, despite being dropped to the bench in the last encounter, he’s expected to resume at the heart of Man City’s mean defence in GW22. He’s averaging an impressive seven points per game in the current campaign, thriving alongside Ruben Dias, and City have kept six clean sheets in their last seven matches against Burnley.

    ONE TO AVOID

    KURT ZOUMA | CHELSEA | 5.6M

    Kurt Zouma

He began the season like a house on fire and was the top-scoring defender in the game for a spell, but Kurt Zouma’s FPL returns have since been extinguished after losing his place in the starting XI. A poor run of form saw Frank Lampard drop him to the bench and Thomas Tuchel hasn’t looked his way in his opening couple of games in charge either. The centre-back has made just one appearance in the last six GWs, but is still owned by around 13 per cent at the time of writing.

    BARGAIN BUY

    ROB HOLDING | ARSENAL | 4.5M

    Rob Holding

Mikel Arteta seems to have laid a strong foundation at Arsenal now after a tumultuous start to the season. The Gunners have kept five clean sheets and conceded only one goal in the last six GWs and Rob Holding has been integral to their defence. He’s also managed to pick up an assist in that time and represents superb value.
