Gameweek 24 in Fantasy Premier League proved to be a fairly high-scoring one, yielding an average of 61 points with four teams playing twice.

There are multiple fixtures to look forward to in GW25 as well with Leeds United and Southampton enjoying double-headers.

The Merseyside derby graces our screens in this round with the Liverpool welcoming Everton to Anfield.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and Man United host Man City and Newcastle United respectively.

Elsewhere, Tottenham and Chelsea are on the road to West Ham and Southampton.

Here are a few tips to help guide you through GW25.

    CAPTAIN – RAPHINHA | LEEDS | 5.4M

    Raphinha

Not one of the household names that usually grace this segment of the column but Raphinha does seem to make the most sense for the captaincy this week.

Don’t let his modest price of just 5.4m or his low ownership – 5.1 per cent at the time of writing – deter you. In fact, his status as a differential should be a point of encouragement.

The biggest selling point though is the double-header Leeds enjoy, travelling to Wolves on Friday night before hosting Southampton late on Tuesday. The prospect of having two bites at the cherry will forever retain its appeal in the FPL universe.

Then there’s also the midfielder’s superb form to consider. He has bagged attacking returns in each of the last five games with two goals and three assists.

    ALTERNATIVE

PATRICK BAMFORD (6.9m) is bound to be the more popular pick and that’s certainly justified. Five attacking returns in his last four games, makes for great reading and he boasts the highest xG in the league [14.59]. Given his ownership [55.1 per cent at the time of writing] he’s the safer option, but Raphinha has potential to be explosive and catapult you up the rankings.

    BOLD CHOICE

KEVIN DE BRUYNE (11.8m), like Raphinha, finds himself in an unfamiliar segment of this column. Having been sidelined for weeks, though, his ownership has dropped to just over 10 per cent. But that also means his a differential and comes back into a far more fluid, dominant and confident City side than the one he was last involved in.

    ONE TO GET

    DANNY INGS | SOUTHAMPTON | 8.4M

    Danny Ings

Danny Ings’ pedigree as a proven Premier League striker is unquestionable and that was the case even during a muted return from injury. In GW24 though, he ended four-game drought, providing a modicum of optimism for a Saints side in disarray in the league. Chelsea at home provides another stern test and while Leeds away won’t necessarily be easier, opportunities to score should be aplenty.

    ONE TO AVOID

    BEN CHILWELL | CHELSEA | 5.9M

    Ben Chilwell

Ben Chilwell began his Chelsea career with a bang this season and while the Blues have been reinvigorated under new boss Thomas Tuchel, the English left-back seems to have lost his place. While the defence picks up clean sheet after clean sheet, he’s frustratingly played just one of the last four league games, and has dropped behind Marcos Alonso in pecking order.

    BARGAIN BUY

    DAN BURN | BRIGHTON | 4.2M

    Dan Burn

Arguably the cheapest shot at a clean sheet in the game right now. For the miserly sum of 4.2m, you can bring Dan Burn into your line-up and enjoy the rewards of a Brighton defence that’s kept five clean sheets in the last six games. Just don’t hold your breath for any attacking returns.
