  • Time to step up: Yaya Toure.

The Manchester derby is the main highlight of this weekend’s EPL programme.

Andy Gray and Richard Keys who front beIn Sports’ Premier League coverage discuss Sunday’s showdown and the other games.

Andy Gray: Manchester City couldn’t go into this game in better spirits. They may not have been too convincing in midweek against Sevilla but they got the job done and their Champions League hopes have been totally transformed.

They have also scored 11 goals in their last two league games, so even without the injured Sergio Aguero and David Silva they will be super confident going into this game.

It is the depth of squad that gives City the edge. In Wilfried Bony they have someone who can get goals and they have Raheem Sterling to provide the searching pace.

Kevin De Bruyne has also shown what a good player he has become since he left Chelsea to move to Germany but Yaya Toure has been City’s most influential player. His contribution to big games like this is immeasurable, particularly when Aguero and Silva don’t play.

If City win this game, then it will probably be because Yaya has played well.

As for Man United, I thought their performance against Everton last week was the best I have seen so far but they are not scoring enough goals on a regular basis.

We have spoken about Wayne Rooney’s form before and Memphis Depay has been really disappointing for me. It looks like he came into the Premier League believing his own publicity and it hasn’t happened for him.

Anthony Martial looks useful but, for me, you are talking about players who have yet to fulfil their potential. If you look at the top scorers in the Premier League, Man United who are third don’t have anyone in the top twenty.

Juan Mata and Anthony Martial are their top scorer with three goals in the EPL and that is not going to win you a title so they need someone to step up to the plate.

Having said all that, I think the fact this game is at Old Trafford will be decisive so although Man City look the better side and should win I think they might have to settle for a point. 1-1.

    Young gun: Anthony Martial.

Richard Keys: Obviously, City will miss Aguero and Silva but, like Andy, I think the player who will make the difference in this game is Yaya Toure.

When he is on form, the whole team tends to play well and his influence has been clear to see in their season so far.

I was interested to see this week Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and even Sir Alex Ferguson talking about the pedestrian approach of Manchester United.

Everton’s mood might have been affected by the death of Howard Kendall last week but that doesn’t take anything away from the fact that United played really well. However, I still think they are too slow to get things moving and if City come out of the traps like Arsenal did when they beat them 3-0, I think United could get taken apart.

I thought Kevin De Bruyne looked really good against Sevilla in midweek, much better than I thought he would be when City brought him back to the Premier League. Jose Mourinho must be kicking himself after letting him leave Chelsea.

There is talk of Vincent Kompany coming back into the City side after his injury but frankly I don’t think it will make the slightest bit of difference. Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala have done well in his absence, so whether he plays or not is irrelevant, particularly as United don’t have much up front worth worrying about.

Wayne Rooney still isn’t firing on all cylinders, Bastian Schweinsteiger is unlikely to score, Morgan Schneiderlin is inconsistent and although Martial might produce something they haven’t got enough firepower for a game like this. 1-3.
