So who makes this week’s top five?

    1) Neymar (Barcelona) – 9.00

Barcelona star Neymar is relishing being the leading man at the Nou Camp since Lionel Messi’s injury. The Brazilian, for the first time in his career, hit four goals in the emphatic 5-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano. Neymar, 23, converted two first-half penalties and then added another brace in the second-half to ensure the Catalan giants hold a slender one-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table.

    2) Marco Asensio (Espanyol) – 8.37

Espanyol’s Marco Asensio, who is on loan at the Catalan club from Real Madrid, sparkled on the wing to help his team to a convincing 3-1 victory over Real Betis. Big things are expected from the 19-year-old star who was at the heart of everything that was good about Espanyol in the win.

    3) Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid) – 8.30

Frenchman Antoine Griezmann has become Atletico Madrid’s key man this term and the 24-year-old was once again in prolific form to condemn David Moyes’ Real Socieded side to yet another La Liga defeat. The star forward opened the scoring against his former club but did not celebrate the strike which set the Madrid club on their way to a comfortable 2-0 away win.

    4) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid) – 7.70

It seems like the Portuguese star breaks at least one record every week. And the latest accolade that belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo is the tag of being Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer – with his 324th goal for the club against Levante in a 3-0 – ending a rare four-match barren streak in front of goal.

    5) Marcelo (Real Madrid) – 7.62

The Brazilian full-back once again proved why he is one of the best attacking defenders in the world when he rifled in Real Madrid’s opening goal after 27 minutes, following a delightful pasing interchange involving who else but Ronaldo.
