  • Wolfsburg's Max Arnold is making a name for himself as a set-piece specialist.

Left-footed player steps up to take a free-kick and unleashes a shot with such ferocious swerve that it leaves everyone bamboozled as it arrows into the goal. Sound familiar?

Roberto Carlos made his name with his trademark set-pieces, but he might have company soon if Maximilian Arnold can do what he did for Wolfsburg on Saturday in the Bundesliga on a regular basis.

Just watch the bend on this free-kick:

And no, it definitely didn’t take a deflection, even if it looks that way. It started swerving after the ball had crossed the Eintracht Frankfurt wall.

To complete this picture-perfect goal, after hit it the back of the net, it bounced back and rolled through the Eintracht keeper’s legs. Because the goal wasn’t good enough on its own.

Eintracht had the last laugh, winning 3-1, but Arnold continues to burnish his reputation as one of the next German wunderkinds.
