  • Tite insisted Brazil were more clinical than Argentina after sealing a late win over their South American rivals in Jeddah.

An otherwise unremarkable contest, in which Argentina were without Lionel Messi, and Neymar and Philippe Coutinho were among those to disappoint for Brazil, was finally settled when the central defender was left unmarked to head in from a corner.

Brazil were far from convincing in attack as they struggled to create many chances, but head coach Tite said his side were worthy winners.

“Argentina created chances to score, tried to win, but Brazil were better and the team’s performance was rewarded with the goal,” Tite said.

He added: “It [Miranda’s winner] could have been another time, but it was in the end.

“The team were concentrating. The corner was the result of a volume of play that we put in the game.”
