    1. GARETH BALE (Real Madrid) – 8.81

Bale scored a hat-trick as Zinedine Zidane’s managerial tenure got off to a tonic start with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Deportivo La Coruna.

The Welshman set the Bernabeu alight with his determination and commitment going forward, weighing in with three goals over a 63 minute spell.

His third was a gem. Toni Kroos sent a clevery weighed corner from the right and Bale rose unmarked at the near post to send the ball past a stranded German Lux in the Deportivo goal.

As a result of their win, Madrid are now third – two points behind second place Barcelona and four points behind current leaders Atletico Madrid.

    2. LIONEL MESSI (Barcelona) – 8.64

A vital cog in the Barcelona wheel, Messi scored his 33rd hat-trick as the Catalan club secured a comfortable 4-0 win over Granada at Camp Nou.

The Argentine scored his treble in 58 minutes to bring his tally for the season to 18, and making it 20 games unbeaten for Barcelona.

Messi’s third goal came via a strike from Neymar which ricocheted off the crossbar, and the star attacker was on hand to nestle the ball home from close range.

    3. KEVIN GAMEIRO (Sevilla) – 7.62

Gameiro struck his 8th and 9th goals of the season in Sevilla’s 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

The 28-year-old broke the deadlock after 24 minutes and added a penalty just before the hour mark.

Sevilla are now seventh in the table, one point off Eibar who sit in sixth place.

    4. JONATHAS DE JESUS (Real Sociedad) – 7.48

Brazilian attacker Jonathas scored twice as Real Sociedad beat Valencia 2-0, leaving manager Gary Neville searching for his first La Liga victory.

26-year-old Jonathas took advantage of an error from Valencia keeper Jaume Domenech to convert the opening goal after 78 minutes, and four minutes later powered a header into the far corner to ensure victory for the San Sebastian outfit.

    5. NEYMAR (Barcelona) – 7.41

The Ballon d’Or nominee contributed Barcelona’s fourth goal in their victory over Granada on Saturday. By scoring in this fixture, Neymar is now joint top of the scoring charts with 15 goals in 18 games – alongside teammate Luis Suarez.

His goal came courtesy of a searching pass across the face of the goal by Suarez and Neymar cut in to complete the scoring for the home side.

Incredibly, out of Barca’s 44 goals this season – 39 have been registered by either Neymar, Suarez or Messi.
