La Liga Fans’ Top 5: Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad steal the show, Luka Modric shines

    1) Miku (Rayo Vallecano) – 7.62

    Former Valencia and Celtic forward Miku was on target for Rayo Vallecano as he helped his side climb out of the La Liga relegation zone.

    The 30-year-old struck the hosts’ opener after four minutes to set-up a 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Las Palmas.

    Miku’s effort showcased his goalpoachers’ touch early on before he laid on a second for team-mate Bebe with a delightful backheel.

    2) Ruben Pardo (Real Sociedad) – 7.40

    The Spanish star controlled the game from the centre of midfield as Real Sociedad smashed Espanyol 5-0 away from home.

    Pardo, 23, who has risen through the San Sebastian youth ranks, grabbed three fine assists in the match – laying on a precise pass for Carlos Vela to make it 2-0 before setting-up Mikel Oyarzabal with a terrific one-two.

    The midfielder then executed an on-the-money cross for Diego Reyes to head home for 4-0.

    3) Jonathas (Real Sociedad) – 7.33

    The Brazilian star is enjoying a rich vein of form and scored a brace as Real Sociedad thumped Espanyol 5-0.

    Jonathas, 26, cleverly flicked the ball over the opposition following Carlos Vela’s pass for the first goal of the match before lashing home a volley in the dying moments for his side’s fifth.

    The powerful forward has scored five La Liga goals this term following his summer move from Pescara.

    4) Luka Modric (Real Madrid) – 7.32

    Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane hailed maestro Luka Modric after the former Tottenham ace scored a stunning late goal to give Real Madrid a 2-1 victory at struggling Granada.

    The Croatian thumped home in the 85th minute for his first goal of the season to cap a fine display for the La La giants.

    It was also Modric’s first goal in the Spanish top flight since September 2014, which helped mastermind Zidane’s first away success in charge.


    5) Bebe (Rayo Vallecano) – 7.22

    Former Manchester United winger Bebe sealed the points for Rayo Vallecano as Los Franjirrojos secured a vital win over lowly Las Palmas.

    The 25-year-old finished off a classy move involving fellow Valora top five star Miku late on to score and taunted the opposition throughout with his pace and trickery.
