  • A stunning late winner from Karim Benzema spared Real Madrid’s blushes as they beat bottom La Liga side Huesca 3-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

The visitors struck early with Juan Hernandez scoring in the third minute before Isco equalised in the 25th.

Benzema then set up Dani Ceballos just past the hour mark but Xabier Etxeita dragged Huesca level with 15 minutes to play.

A sublime finish from Benzema in the 89th minute though sealed the victory for Los Blancos.

    Here’s our Real Madrid ratings.

Luca Zidane: Was hardly at fault for either goal. Had little to do otherwise. 6

Alvaro Odriozola: As industrious as ever. Created a couple of chances for Benzema in the first half and looked hungry for work. Made three key passes. 6

Nacho: Lost possession which led to Huesca’s opener and failed to mark Etxeita for the second goal. Made six clearances. 6

Sergio Ramos: Commanded the box as per usual and produced a consistent performance. 6

Marcelo: Found Huesca’s pace hard to deal with. Lost possession and needs to be alert to danger better. 6

Isco: Broke the deadlock on 25 minutes after a sensational team move. Worked tirelessly in the channels to provide an outlet. 7

Marcos Llorente: Vital component in Madrid’s midfield. Made more tackles (4) and interceptions (3) than any other player. 8

Dani Ceballos: Kept regularly involved and showed superb movement to break free and convert Benzema’s header on 62 minutes.

Gareth Bale: Took for him until the hour mark to make a telling contribution, with a glorious left-footed effort that led to Ceballos’ strike. Was quiet otherwise, missing a sitter on 70 mins. 6

Karim Benzema: The central figure in the story tonight. The game required a moment of magic and the Frenchman delivered with a sizzling strike on 89 minutes. Also played a key part in Isco and Ceballos’ goals. 9

Brahim Diaz: The 19-year-old looked confident and lively with and without the ball. Slipped the pass through for Isco’s strike. 7

    SUBSTITUTIONS

Lucas Vazquez: Had one effort saved by Santamaria. 6

Fede Valverde: Replaced Isco after 74 minute and didn’t have an impact. 6

Mariano Diaz: Came on for Llorente and tested Santamaria with a late shot. 6
