  • Real Madrid wonderkid Takefusa Kubo will be plying his trades for Real Mallorca this season after the newly-promoted La Liga side beat Real Valladolid in the two-team tussle.

The Japanese youngster had a great pre-season in which he displayed glimpses of what he can do in the centre of the pitch. His dribbling and creativity in attacking midfield have raised several eyebrows, most notably that of Madrid president Florentino Perez.

Perez was convinced that a player of his quality needs to experience first division football and he must hence be loaned out, according to Marca.

On the other hand, manager Zinedine Zidane preferred that Kubo grew under Raul Gonzalez at Real Madrid Castilla and joined the first team when needed.

The president was not an advocate of the idea since the Copa del Rey games will not arrive until January and he believed that Kubo will have his talents wasted in the third division.

Perez eventually had his way, with Mallorca signing the player on a one-year loan.
