  • Memphis Depay and company have a tough fixture coming up.

In a thrilling conclusion to the Ligue 1 season former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has scored a hat-trick as Lyon came from behind to beat Nice 3-2 and clinch a place in next year’s Champions League.

Alassane Plea had put Nice ahead on 18 minutes but 24-year-old Depay evened things up just after half time, tapping in a cross from captain Nabil Fekir on 48 minutes.

Then on 65 minutes he showed some creativity to roll a free-kick under the wall and into the bottom corner to score his 18th goal of the campaign and his ninth in as many games.

Depay’s treble was complete late on when he dinked a ball over Nice goalkeeper Walter Benitez. Plea fired home a late consolation, but Lyon held on to complete a miserable week for Marseille, who after losing the Europa League final mid-week missed out on the final Champions League spot.
