Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah praised Roma legend Daniele De Rossi and revealed that he would love to play with the Italian at the Merseyside club.
De Rossi played his final game for Roma last week and was met with an emotional farewell. Salah, who was his team-mate for two seasons at the Italian club, voiced his emotions in a recent interview with Sky Sports Italia.
“He is a legend of the club and of Italian football, not just because he is a great friend of mine,” Salah said.
“I don’t know what to say, I saw the game and the affection of the fans who saluted him. He made many sacrifices for his team, I would like to thank him. He is one of the best of which I have played with. Good luck for the future.”
Salah admitted that the feasibility of having De Rossi could be an issue, but he did reiterate that he is looking forward to playing alongside the Roma legend again.
“It would be beautiful,” said the Liverpool star when asked if De Rossi could join him in the Premier League. “But I don’t know if it’s possible. It would be pleasing for me to play with him again, he is an optimal player.”
