  • Zinedine Zidane has little desire to work in the Premier League despite rampant rumours of imminently taking over from embattled manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, according to his agent.

Zidane, 46, has been unemployed since he walked away from Real Madrid in May after he won nine trophies in two-and-a-half glorious years.

His availability has seen him linked with a move to Old Trafford. Current incumbent Mourinho had overseen the club’s worst top-flight start in 29 years, prior to Saturday’s rollercoaster 3-2 victory against Newcastle United.

Speaking to Journal du Dimanche, representative Alain Migliaccio quashed the talk.

He said: “I do not think that he will manage in England.

“It is much less his style. I have discussed it with him, it does not really attract him.

“He has chosen to have a year out, he will not dive in again before that is over.”

Zidane previously told TVE in September that “I’ll be coaching again” once a 12-month sabbatical is completed.
