Manchester United are eyeing a move for Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield ranks.
Pellegrini has a £27million release clause in his contract, which United are ready to activate.
According to Corriere dello Sport, United’s offer to the player would be worth £1.8million per year, plus bonuses, which would double his current salary at Roma.
The Italian is one of Europe’s highest-rated prospects, and, at 22, has a bright future ahead of him.
Roma are already aware that their player is attracting interest, and though they would be loathe to lose him, the Serie A club know there is little they could do if a big-money offer comes in.
