Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is being heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United, with Sky Sports reporting that the Frenchman is ready to leave Old Trafford as soon as possible.

Pogba is much loved by a majority of the Red Devils’ fan base and he is widely considered as one of the world’s best midfielders. However, when he pulls on a Manchester United shirt, he finds it difficult to perform to the best of his abilities.

Some fans have grown increasingly frustrated with Pogba’s low level performances in big games and others have even questioned his attitude and desire to help the club succeed.

In addition this this, his relationship with manager Jose Mourinho is getting increasingly strained, but he should not leave United just yet. Here’s why.

    Love for the club

There is absolutely no doubt that Pogba loves Manchester United. Since he was a youngster, Pogba has always had a close attachment to the club. The France international has been highly-rated by the club ever since he was the star for the Academy team not long ago.

Just last month, Pogba spoke about his affection for the club and how he always wanted to come back after he moved to Juventus. As quoted on the Independent, he said: “When I came back to United, it was the best feeling ever. I came back home. I always dreamed of playing for United and to have many games and score goals. It was like I didn’t really leave, I just went on a holiday! It was great to come back, to feel the air of Manchester.”

    The future

United boss Jose Mourinho is looking increasingly likely to part ways with the club if not before, then after the season concludes. Even those fans who were passionately backing the Portuguese a few months ago have grown fed up with his tactics and consistent complaints.

Mourinho has fallen out on multiple occasions with Pogba and even stripped him of United’s vice-captaincy earlier this season.

Pogba has been dropped to the bench in various big games during Mourinho’s tenure at Old Trafford and that has negatively affected Pogba’s performances on the pitch.

However, the worst thing for the midfielder to do is leave the club now, because there is no question that under a more offensive coach, he will thrive.

Patience is key for Pogba at this critical stage of his career and there is no doubt that he can be the leader that United have been crying out for.

    Team mates and fans

Pogba has an incredibly close relationship with fellow midfielder Jesse Lingard, with both players coming through the Academy system together.

He has also forged strong friendships with Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial. All these players together could inspire United to silverware in the future.

Mourinho focuses on defence first and hardly allows his offensive players to express themselves, which is clearly holding the talented attackers back. However, by staying at United and playing under a new manager, Pogba and Co would be primed to lead United back to the glory days.

Pogba has the backing of the United faithful, with a majority of the fan base understanding that it is the team’s current style of play that is not allowing Pogba to express his true qualities.

For France, Pogba ran the midfield alongside N’Golo Kante in the World Cup and was given the license to roam around the middle of the park, which is when he is at his creative best.

In conclusion, Pogba and Manchester United are a perfect match but will only blossom together if the team is built around the Frenchman.
