  • Eidur Gudjohnsen will crown 20 years of international football at Euro 2016.

UEFA Champions League holders Real Madrid have snapped up the teenage son of former Barcelona, Chelsea and Iceland star Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Andri Lucas Gudjohnsen, 16, posted on Instagram on Tuesday that he’d joined the capital giants. This followed spells at Barca’s La Masia academy, Espanyol and the Iceland junior sides.

“Very excited and proud to announce that I have signed with Real Madrid!” he wrote on Instagram. “Looking forward to the future.”

SPORT have stated that younger brother Daniel is also expected to be imminently announced as joining Madrid too, after playing a starring role for Barca’s U-12’s last term.

The Gudjiohnsens represent a football dynasty.

Eidur, 39, retired in 2016 after a celebrated career that saw him win La Liga and the Champions League at Barca from 2006-09. The artful forward also represented the likes of PSV Eindhoven and Monaco.

His father, Arnor, had a successful career of his own at the likes of Anderlecht and Bordeaux.
