  • Real Madrid will welcome back Vinicius Junior from international duty later this week following the Brazilian’s impressive performances with his nation’s Under-20s.

The 18-year-old, who arrived from Flamengo over the summer, starred in the 1-1 and 2-2 draws against Chile this week.

But for all his dominance for Real Madrid’s second team, senior boss Julen Lopetegui is yet to consider Vinicius for consistent selection as he wants him to play more minutes and get used to the style of play in Spain.

Vincius is keen for more first team action after featuring in just two matches this season: two minutes against Atletico Madrid on September 29 and 10 minutes against Alaves on October 6.

Speaking to media, he said: “I have a calm head because I just arrived.

“I am happy with the group, which is really good, and I hope to train to be able to help the team.

“There was nothing better than being able to debut at the Bernabeu.

“It’s always good to play with the best in the world.

“Playing for Real Madrid is priceless.

“It’s a childhood dream that I always wanted to make happen.”
