  • Lopetegui insists he has the club's complete support.

Under-fire Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui is confident of his side coming good after a patchy period which has seen the Los Blancos fail to find the back of the net in their last four matches.

The former Spain coach’s position has come under increasing scrutiny in recent weeks but he remains unfazed in the face of criticism.

The Real Madrid boss declared he feels the support from the top management while previewing his side’s La Liga clash against Levante on Saturday.

“Absolutely,” Lopetegui said when asked if he feels the support of the club.

“I’m calm in this moment and focused on my work. I have full confidence in the squad that I have, I’m convinced of what we’re trying to do, there is a lot of the season left, and I’m sure that we’ll be strong at the end of the campaign,” he continued.

Lopetegui is optimistic about Bale's return from injury.

The Real Madrid boss also provided an update on Gareth Bale’s fitness although he refused to confirm his availability for the clash. The star attacker sustained a groin injury in the Madrid derby against Atletico and did not take part in Wales’ two matches in the international break despite being called up the squad.

“We have to see what happens in training. We’re optimistic, we’ll have to wait to make decisions. (With) Bale we’ll wait and see what happens in training, we’re optimistic,” Lopetegui said.

“Gareth’s been very responsible about his injury, he hasn’t played with the international team when he could have tried to, it’s good to see he has that responsibility and we have a good chance to get him fit,” he added.
