Sergio Ramos could face a two-match ban after admitting he earned himself a booking on purpose against Ajax.

The Real Madrid captain led his side to a 2-1 win victory in the Champions League last-16 clash in Amsterdam on Wednesday night.

Ramos picked up his third booking of the competition for a late foul on striker Kasper Dolberg – earning himself an automatic one-match ban.

That would leave the defender available for the first leg of a likely quarter-final tie, but UEFA could slap him with a two-match suspension for his actions.

“Looking at the result, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t force it,” Ramos said to Marca. “It’s something I was thinking about.”

“Ajax grow at home and they raised their performance.

“They pressed us very high and didn’t let us receive the ball so we looked for longer passes.

“Now it’s up to them to suffer in front of our fans.”
