Real Madrid defender Daniel Carvajal feels that football has been unfair to his team of late.

The right-back reflected on what has been a tough month for Los Blancos. Santiago Solari’s side lost have three games in a row at home – to Girona and, even more painfully, twice to Barcelona in the cup and the league.

Madrid also failed to score in both El Clasicos, with their brightest spark Vinicius Junior failing to provide an end-product to his promising runs on the left.

Carvajal believes things would have been different if Los Blancos had found a cutting edge in front of goal.

“I think that they were two closely contested matches,” he said after Saturday’s loss, according to Marca.

“In the Copa del Rey I think the result was flattering and today was a game in which there were chances for both sides.

“Now the league is far away for us and it hurts us because this was an opportunity to get back in the fight.

“You should never lose three games at home in your own stadium but we are thankful for the fans.

“I think football has been a bit unfair to us.We shouldn’t regret things, but we should look forward.

“You have to score goals. We were missing a bit of luck, but we have to work harder to score.”
