Real Madrid full-back Alvaro Odriozola believes that Zinedine Zidane’s return has renewed hope and the players are ready to fight to the death for the club.

Los Blancos defeated Celta Vigo 2-0 in Zidane’s first game after returning as Madrid boss. Goals from Gareth Bale and Isco helped them bag all three points.

With Dani Carvajal injured, Odriozola was handed an opportunity to prove his prowess.

The former Real Socieded player spoke about his admiration for the Frenchman and how it’s a dream for him to play under him.

“We are very happy [to have Zidane back],” he said in the mixed zone at the Santiago Bernabeu, according to Marca.

“As a child, he was my idol and now he is my coach, so it is a dream for me.

“The win is a result of our hard work in the past three days and this is a new beginning for us.

“He was one of the best players in history and as a coach, when he speaks, he knows what he is talking about.

“We are going to fight to the death because this club demands it of us and the hope has been renewed, which was necessary for now and the future.”
