  • Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly reignited their interest in Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, according to Marca.

The player was initially linked to Los Blancos as an alternative to Tottenham star Christian Eriksen but Zinedine Zidane’s had his mind set on signing Paul Pogba from Manchester United.

The Madrid boss rates the Frenchman highly and is reportedly adamant on bringing him to Santiago Bernabeu. But the capital club don’t view the player as the solution to all their problems.

United are not willing to let the player go for less than €150 million and with the sale of James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale facing complications, Madrid are not in the right position to shell out big money.

It is believed that acquiring Van de Beek for €60 million could be an option that Los Blancos are open to. However, Zidane is still hopeful of landing Pogba and will wait until the end of the transfer window to see this deal completed.
