  • On the move: Daryl Janmaat.

With each passing day the transfer market continues to gather pace as it builds towards its impending crescendo and it is the Premier League which continues to dominate the market place.

Now just one week remains for clubs to complete their squads and with many sides embarking upon a game of brinkmanship, it threatens to be a crazy final few days.

Sport360 rounds-up the biggest of Thursday morning’s transfer headlines.

Daryl Janmaat, Newcastle to Watford, £7.5 million (Done Deal)

The Dutch international right-back is back in the Premier League after signing a four-year contract at Vicarage Road. The Magpies immediately replaced Janmaat with the £5m acquisition of USA full-back DeAndre Yedlin from Tottenham.

Benjamin Stambouli, PSG to Schalke, €8 million (Fee agreed)

Just days before the start of the Bundesliga season, Schalke are poised to complete the double signing of defensive midfielders Stamboili and Nabil Bentaleb on loan from Spurs. Both could be unveiled by Friday, before their league opener at Frankfurt.

Sofiane Boufal, Lille to Southampton, £20 million (In talks)

Southampton have opened talks with Lille over the Moroccan forward following a start to the season which has shown them distinctly lacking in firepower. Boufal, 22, is more creator than scorer but would be a classy addition to the Saints squad.

Wilfried Bony, Man City to West Ham, £25 million (In talks)

West Ham’s search for a striker dates back to the end of last season but the need has been intensified by Andy Carroll’s most recent injury. Hammers boss Slaven Bilic has confirmed he is “interested” in Bony who doesn’t appear to have a future under Pep Guardiola.

Hakan Calhanoglu, Bayer Leverkusen to Tottenham, €40 million (In talks)

The agent of the Turkish free-kick specialist has admitted Spurs have made contact over the availability of the 22-year-old. Leverkusen would be reluctant sellers and would expect a sizeable increase on the €14.5m they paid Hamburg for the playmaker in 2014.
